This is an Avalon model AV-2T, double-cutaway, solid body electric guitar. It was made in Japan circa 1968. It has a translucent tobaccoburst finish with two pickups. The neck is straight and all the electronics work properly. It is a great playing Avalon guitar which will be appreciated by collectors, players, and Shaggs fans. Yes, this is the exact same model guitar THE SHAGGS used for their truly unique sound way back in 1969. Could it be one of theirs? We will probably never know but you can still rock that incredible tone they achieved forty years ago with it. You too can discover the Philosophy of the World! Speaking of that, a copy of the CD will be included. It comes with a good quality gig bag.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
CONDITION:Description from VintageSilvertones.com
Extremely cleans finish with only a very few minor nicks and dings. The tiger maple body has a seriously amazing flame; which can also be seen on the headstock. There are finish cracks (crazing) both on front and back of the body with a few longer ones on the back. In addition there are very fine minor ones on the headstock. It's completely original except for the tremolo arm. That's a period replacement. The tremolo works properly.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

Closed back individual chrome-plated tuners in very good working order.
NECK:Description from VintageSilvertones.com
Bolt-on, straight neck with dot inlays on Canadian maple fretboard, 22 frets, and 24 3/4" scale. Frets are in very good condition with no visible wear. There are very faint scratches across the fretboard below some of the higher frets but they are not deep or noticeable from a few feet away. The back of the neck has virtually no playing wear. The headstock is extremely clean except for three very small nicks. The headstock has beautiful beautifully flamy wood with the Avalon logo inlaid.
PICKUPS:Description from VintageSilvertones.com
2 humbucking pickups (or extremely quiet single-coils) which are strong and in good working order. The neck pickup is strong with a smooth and somewhat mellow sound. The bridge is twangy but not super twangy with a smoothed out edge. Both together are strong but on the more muted side and not quite as loud as them separately. One volume and one tone control for each pickup. All the electronics are in proper working order.
