A Burns neck was added at the US factory with the signature scroll-top headstock. The Baldwin 700 series guitars were a budget oriented line that included this 706, a 706 with a trapeze tailpiece and die-cut "B" (no whammy), a 12 string called 712 (and 712T with a thinner neck), and a 704 bass. The guitars came in Cherry Red and Sunburst colors.
