DANELECTRO SHORTHORN BASS
circa 1964

Danelectro Shorthorn Bass, hollow body, electric bass guitar with 1 pickups This is a Danelectro Shorthorn, double-cutaway, electric bass circa 1964. It has a copper finish with one pickup. The neck is straight and all the electronics work properly. The only thing to note is the toggle switch doesn't go to the left position; it may never have or it's possible it's broken. But it works just fine in the other two positions. (For what this is worth, on every one of the Danelectro's I've owned there's never been a difference between the middle and left positions as far as the tonal qualities go. I presume it's meant to be different but the difference is so minute that it's negligible.)

Overall, this bass is very clean and was just set up with new short-scale, round wound strings. So it's ready to play. It does have the usual nicks and scratches along with the playing wear on the back of the neck. Collectors and players will appreciate this bass.
