SILVERTONE 1377
Circa 1955 - DANELECTRO

Silvertone 1377 Danelectro, made in NJ, early, maroon artificial leather, 2 pickups, single cutaway 1955 This is a Silvertone 1377 made by Danelectro of Neptune, New Jersey. It features a solid hardwood, poplar body covered by maroon, artificial leather, with contrasting white head plate and guard plate on which all of the electronics are mounted, two single coil pickups actually concealed under the pickguard, a single cutaway, and a four way adjustable unplated aluminum bridge with a Brazilian rosewood saddle. The 1377 has an aluminum truss rod that extends from the nut all the way through to the bridge and it can be seen on the surface of the guitar down the middle of the back of the neck and on the front center of the body. This guitar is 100% original and in good condition. It is a very early and rare model that still looks lovely after approximately 60 years of existence. With its medium-fast action and terrific tone, this guitar plays like a dream. It comes with an orignial hardshell case. Get this rare, early Silvertone before someone else does.

CONDITION:
This guitar is 100% original and it is in good condition. The artificial leather finish is very clean for its age especially on the front and back. The edges on the sides have a few small spots of wear. The pickguard is clean. This guitar looks and sounds great for an approximately 60 year old instrument.

TUNERS:
The double three inline opened-back tuners with plastic buttons are in very good working condition. All of the tuners are smooth and hold the pitch well.

NECK:
The neck is in good shape. It is a straight, bolted-on neck with circular aluminum inlays on a rosewood fretboard, an aluminum nut, 20 frets, and a 25" scale. There is some playing wear to the paint on the back of the neck and some very minor playing wear on the top two frets that does not affect the playability or tone of the instrument. The headstock, featuring a horizontal silkscreened Silvertone logo with a lightening bolt underneath on a white plate, has no wear on the front but has some wear along the back edges. The neck is kept straight and supported by an aluminum truss rod that starts at the nut and goes all the way through the body and stops at the bridge. This rod is visible on the rear of the neck, giving the neck a flat, squared-off appearance down the center of the rear of the neck. It can also be seen on the front of the body down the center as it heads toward the bridge. With its medium-fast action, the neck feels fantastic under your fingers.

PICKUPS:
The two single coil pickups, that are tucked under the pickguard, have a clean, strong bright tone. The bridge pickup is more twangy than the neck. With the proper usage of the pickup selector and tone knobs, the guitar is very versatile offering the player tones suitable for rock, blues, country, rockabilly, soul, funk, jazz and many more musical styles. This guitar has two sets of stacked concentric knobs giving the player volume and tone control for each pickup. There is a three way selector to choose bridge, neck and both pickups. The pots and switch are clean sounding and in fine working order.
