This is a very clean 1965 Silvertone 1446L made by Harmony of Chicago. The serial number is 1552H1446 (although last part of serial number is not legible). It is a thinline, maple, semi-hollow body electric guitar. The guitar has two Gibson Mini-P90's humbucking pickups. The neck has mother-of-pearl inlays and an ebonized fingerboard. There's a Bigsby vibrato/tremolo/whammy bar. It has a range from Jazz to Surf Punk and many things in between. The tone controls have a cool roll-off when turned up or down to give a brighter or more muted sound. There's rumors that Harmony made guitars for Gibson for a while in the mid-1960's and it's believed this is the same guitar. Apparently, Gibson traded pickups for guitar body's with Harmony so that's how this got the mini-P90's.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
This guitar is in very good+ condition and is completely original. It has a couple of nicks, some scratches, finish crazing (on front & back of headstock), and wear as to be expected for a 40+ year old guitar but over all it's extremely clean. There's a minor finish crack at the jack and the truss rod cover has two small chips. All the electronics work properly and a couple of the wires were replaced due to corrosion. The neck is straight, medium-thick, and the action is fast. The fret board has minor wear at the first and second frets. The frets are in good shape but do have minor wear. It includes the original case shown; which is in very good+ shape. (Please note: this guitar is being sold on consignment. So it will ship from Bloomington, IN. Our 72 approval policy still applies.)
