This is an extremely cool and rare Silvertone 1480 solid body, electric guitar with a red sunburst finish, two red DeArmond pickups, mother-of-pearl inlays on the fretboard, a tortoise shell pickguard on which all of the electronics and the bridge are mounted, a six-way metal adjustable bridge, a metal and a plastic strap pin, and a classic vibrato tailpiece. It was made in the Fender Jaguar style by Harmony of Chicago around 1967. The two red DeArmonds not only look great, they offer a great range of super sounds, from a surf/country twang to heavy rock and maybe even a bit of jazz if one properly adjusts the tone controls. The neck is in great condition and the action is fast. It has a fantastic feel for players and it is cosmetically somewhat well preserved for collecters. It includes an original, two-tone grey hard shell case. Don't miss the chance to get this classic.
This guitar is in good condition for its age. It is 100% original except for the period correct knob replacements. There are hardly any nicks and scratches on the front and rear of this guitar. A buckle rash is on the back of the guitar and the tip of the pickguard on the upper bass side is chipped and missing the screw that holds it in place there. There are a few nicks and dings on the lower sides of the guitar particularly by the lower bout at the treble side. Also there is some wear and pitting to the metal on the whammy bar.
The 6-inline, opened back tuners with white plastic buttons are all original and in good working order. The high E tuner is very slightly bent but it is hardly noticeable and it works fine. The tuners are smooth and they hold the pitch well.

The neck is in very good shape. It's a straight, bolt-on, bound, neck with rectangular mother-of-pearl inlays, (dot markers on side), on a rosewood fretboard, 20 frets, and a 24" scale. The top five frets have some playing wear after almost 50 years of use but they are clean and in good condition and it does not effect the playability at all. The back of the neck has no playing wear. The headstock, featuring a vertical silkscreened Silvertone logo, is very clean with only a bit of paint wear on the top edges. The neck is kept straight with dual steel reinforcement rods. With its fast action, the neck feels fanstastic under your fingers.
The two red, single coil, DeArmonds are bright and potent. The bridge pickup is strong, clear and bright with some twang that is perfect for country, surf rock or punk. The neck pickup is not as potent as the bridge pickup and both the tone and volume knobs effect the volume for it. This pickup sounds great for rock, funk, jazz, soul. There are four pots, one volume control and tone control for each pickup. The pickup selection toggle will let you choose fom the neck, bridge or both pickups. You can access a wide variety of tones by adjusting the tone, volume and pickup selection to taste.
